Q. When is the laundromat open? A. Daily from 8am-8pm. Special closures for holidays or emergencies will be communicated on social media. Q. What does “last load in” mean? A. We appreciate if all washers are started before 6:30pm. If they are started by this time, it allows for plenty of time to wash and dry before closing at 8pm. Q. Is there someone to help me if I have a question or a problem? A. Yes, we always have a full-time attendant to help with whatever you need. Q. How long do the washers and dryers take? A. The average wash cycle takes around 45 minutes, and dryer times are typically around 20-30 minutes. Q. How much do your washers and dryers cost? A. The cheapest wash starts at $3.50 and dryers start at .50¢ for 6 minutes. We have a variety of washers, all different sizes with enhanced wash features for you to choose from, so prices do vary. Q. I don’t have time to wash my clothes – can you do it for me? A. Absolutely! Please view our Drop Off - Wash/Dry/Fold service for more information on this great time saving service. Q. Do you have wifi? A. Yes, you can connect to our free wifi by asking the attendant for the password.
DROP OFF - WASH/DRY/FOLD
Q. When can I drop my laundry off? A. You can drop off anytime between 8am-8pm daily. Q. How much does the service cost? A. This service is $1.45/lb. Other items such as comforters, blankets, dog beds, etc. are charged per piece. Head to our Services page for a full price list. Q. Is there a minimum order? A. Yes, there is a 10lb. minimum or a minimum charge of $14.50. Q. What is the turnaround time? A. You can expect your laundry to be available for pick up in 24 hours, sometimes sooner if dropped off before 3pm. Q. What type of detergent do you use? A. We use Arm & Hammer detergent but we also have all Free & Clear available if you prefer an unscented, hypoallergenic detergent. We can do an extra wash, use additional detergent, use Tide, add Clorox 2, liquid bleach, OxiClean, Odoban, etc., for an additional charge of $1.25/each. We will save your laundry care preferences and use exactly what you’d like each time you drop off. Q. Do I need to sort my laundry into whites and colors? A. Yes, if you prefer your whites and colors washed separately please sort your clothes. Otherwise, we will wash everything together. Q. How will you know how I like my laundry done? A. You can share any laundry care preferences with our laundry professionals. For example, dry on low heat, use all Free & Clear detergent, hang all shirts, etc. Q. Do you wash my clothes with other clothes? A. Never! We always keep our customers laundry separate from one another. Q. Can you treat stains? A. Yes, please indicate which clothes are stained upon drop off and we will do our best to treat and remove them. We do not look through your laundry for stains so please be sure to let us know. Q. Are there any clothes you cannot clean with your wash/dry/fold service? A. For the most part we can wash almost anything. However, garments that have elaborate/glued on decorations or excessive beading/sequins are not recommended for this service. Q. Is it worth my time to pay less and do the laundry myself? A. Most people are looking to save time. Your time is valuable so allow the professionals here at Lakes Laundry to do it for you! Q. How can I pay for the wash/dry/fold service? A. We accept cash and all major credit cards. Pay when you drop off or when you pick up! Q. How will I know when my laundry is ready for pick up? A. You will receive a text notification with an order update to let you know.

Q. How do I schedule an order? A. That’s easy! Head to the Delivery page and click on the button to begin. Q. How much does the service cost? A. This service is $1.45/lb for regular laundry requiring washing, drying and folding. Other items such as comforters, blankets, dog beds, etc. are charged per piece. Head to our Services page for a full price list. Q. How will I be billed? A. A credit card is required upon placing your order. It will not be charged until your order has been delivered back to you. Q. Is there a delivery charge? A. There is no charge in the month of January. Use promo code FREEINJAN when you place your order. We will be evaluating the fee in the future. Q. Is there a minimum order or charge? A. Yes, we do have a minimum order of 20lbs. or $29. Q. How do I know how much my laundry weighs? A. A standard 13-gallon kitchen trash bag filled with clothes will likely weigh around 12-15lbs. You can weigh yourself on your bathroom scale then grab your laundry and weigh again to get a better estimate. Q. What do I put my laundry in? A. You can put your laundry in a hamper, plastic garbage bag, or a fabric bag, whatever is easiest for you. We will return those to you but your clean laundry will be packed in clean plastic bags and/or garment bags. Q. Is there a long-term commitment? A. No. You can schedule service once, as needed or for your convenience schedule a recurring order; weekly, every two weeks, or every four weeks. Q.How often can I change or update my laundry care preferences? A. As often as you like! Our laundry professionals always review your laundry care preferences prior to beginning your laundry. Q. I forgot to leave my laundry out . What should I do? Is there a missed pickup fee? A. Call us at the laundromat on 847-395-5595 and our staff will contact our driver. If our driver is still in your area, we’ll make every effort to arrange for a pick up. If we can’t make it we do reserve the right to charge a $5 fee to cover costs. Q. Can I cancel my order? A. Yes. Use the most recent text notification to "manage" your order and make changes, including cancelation. Q. What if I am not home when you pick up and deliver? A. That’s no problem. We recommend that you leave your laundry in a location protected from the elements, like a front or back porch. You can include a specific location when you place your order. Q. What is the turnaround time? A. You can expect your laundry to be returned in 48 hours. Q. Who will be picking up and delivering my laundry? A. A Lakes Laundry driver will be picking up and delivering. It will not be a third party driver such as Doordash. Q. How can I tip the laundry professional and/or my driver? A. You can leave a tip upon placing your order and/or tip the driver in cash. Please know that you are not required to tip, it is at your sole discretion but it is always appreciated.
